Is Your GREEN Thumb Worthy of the Philadelphia Flower Show?

In March, PHAG is going green, so color us chartreuse because the Philadelphia Flower Show is underway here in the City of Brotherly love, and you have one more day to get the inspiration you need to achieve a green thumb worthy of recognition at the show!  This year’s theme: Explore America- Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.  From Arcadia to Zion, some of the world’s best gardeners and horticulturists have arrived to showcase Mother Nature’s bounty. From vibrant blooms to verdant stems crowned with big beautiful buds, 2016 may well be the best show yet!

If you can’t go yourself and are positively green with envy (*wipes a tear*), not to worry. Our intrepid team was on the ground to get the dirt on the year’s most PHabulous floral fete.  There’s something for everyone, especially if you’re a Dirty Gardener at heart!

If you’re a Food and Drink PHreak and there’s a garden party in your future, we hope these images inspire your own outdoor designs or maybe a new cocktail creation (Nature’s Nectar, anyone?).  And what Fine Furnishings Enthusiast wouldn’t appreciate the organic beauty of these pieces?

For the Committed Collector, the show boasts plenty of petal possibilities for your PHavorite vases and vintage vessels.  Our Artsy Fartsy followers will PHlip for the myriad of creative ways flowers and plants can inspire- take our favorite celebratory exhibit, for example- the Independence National Historical Park

Like your home, this bell of blooms has a style all its own and, for us, was most certainly the Bell of the ball!

For now, we’ll let the photos speak for themselves.  We’re late for the butterfly exhibit and there’s a hothouse flower in there that needs some attention from our green thumb.
