A project of Italian designer Alessandra Baldereschi, known for her exploration of the secret language of flowers in precious objects, this vintage-inspired table trivet is a reminder of the forgotten tradition of high quality, artisan Chinese production. Forming patterns from folded straw into a floral composition, the finished piece is an intricate work of art that can withstand the high temperatures of dishes straight from the oven. The Mimosa hot pad is chock-full of little yellow flowers, all bunched up on stalks like their real-life counterparts. Entirely handmade using all natural materials, the woven design is embellished with a single ceramic frog charm- a signature feature of the Florigraphie Collection.
