Our rainbow stripey toe socks offer a classic and cozy 5-toe design in two colorful options. The original concept of toe socks can be traced to PHAGs home state of Pennsylvania where, in 1969, Ethel Wynhum filed a copyright with the US Copyright Office for two drawings of footwear she called, “mitten toe socks” and “glove socks.” Sadly, she was unable to attain exclusive rights for their manufacture at the time because it is actually US Patent law that affords this protection- not copyright (she filed with the wrong office). Regardless, we’re thrilled to offer a colorful modern interpretation of Ethel’s original design today. Each sock features a unique rainbow stripe pattern, with colors ranging from bright yellow to jet black, knitted so that each toe is individually encased the same way as fingers within a glove. These longer, knee-high style socks are available in “glitter” or “traditional” styles. The “glitter” style includes some metallic threads that give the socks an extra sparkle. One size fits most. Sold as a pair.
