Hoosier Cabinet- White House Collection

This distinctive metal Hoosier cabinet is a type of cupboard popular in the first decades of the 20th Century. Generally referred to as a Hoosier, after the manufacturing company that created the cabinet, this Hoosier bears the tag of the prestigous, and premium-priced, White House collection, and is said to have been salvaged from the former home of a famous Philadelphia TastyKake family. A distinctive feature of the Hoosier cabinet is its accessories, and this cabinet has one particularly distinctive accesory, the combination flour-bin/sifter, a tin hopper that could be used without having to remove it from the cabinet a must have for a “baking” family. In its current condition, the antique cabinet has a beautiful distressed look, but could certainly be restored to its former splendor. It does have a great deal of damage on the top surface, and currently has a basic piece of plywood covering the surface to make for a level cabinet top.

The overall size of the Hoosier cabinet is 51″wide x 22″ deep x 82″ high. It assembles from two pieces, a base cabinet and the upper cupboard.
