How blue can this framed, original colored pencil drawing make you? Shades of Blue is an original work of art by PHAG PHounder, Jason Crook. This monochromatic shades of blue art is a bit of play on words since the primary subject of the piece is literally a window shade– all in blue. This piece is a departure from Crook’s recognizable vibrant, colorful style, but it reinforces how difficult it is to put a label on this self-taught artist. Crook has an affinity for giving reality a truly animated feel. The subjects of his works are limited only by his imagination; his art frequently fuses abstract ideas with elements of popular culture. Having studied color theory briefly during the early ’90s, his palette is both bright and vast. Crook’s works, however varied, maintain a consistently high level of visual appeal, and his use of color in combination with intricate patterns can only be described as fascinating. Colored pencil on paper in a floating glass frame. Approximately 8″ x 10″. Sold individually.
