Designed to celebrate Pope Francis’ historic visit to Philadelphia in September, 2015, our commemorative Pope Francis plates are Limited Editions- so here’s your chance to own a unique collectible celebrating The People’s Pope! Elected Supreme Pontiff on March 13, 2013, the first Pope of the Americas, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, hails from Argentina. Pope Francis made his historic visit to the City of Brotherly Love as part of the World Meeting of Families which has taken place every three years since 1994; 2015 was the first year it was held in the United States. Our Declaration Pope Francis collectible plate is part of the PHAG gourmet collection- a PHAG exclusive! The artwork captures the historic drafting of the Declaration of Independence at Jefferson’s home on the corner of 7th and Market Streets in Philadelphia, PA. In our collectible version, The Holy Father joins Benjamin Franklin (left), John Adams (center), and Thomas Jefferson (right), in their review of a draft of the 1776 document that would change the face of history forever! The surrounding rim of the plate reads, “Pope Francis. Philadelphia, PA 2015.”

Made of bone China. Our Limited Edition PHAG gourmet plates are fired twice prior to applying artwork, then fired a third time after decoration is complete in order to safely fuse the color pigments into the glaze coating of the plate. While our commemorative plates are generally used for decorative purposes, this process makes our unique dinnerware food, microwave, and dishwasher safe. Designed and decorated in the USA. Choose from Delaware Crossing and Declaration designs. Approximately 7″ in diameter. Sold individually.
