So, it’s Super Bowl Sunday. This day, among other things, promises to produce the most watched show in the history of television. In fact, the oddsmakers over at Bovada have set the over/under for viewership of this year’s match up between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos at 117 million! Whether that number is reached or not, most analysts predict the spectacle is certain to eclipse the previous record of 114.4 million who watched in 2015. Even more astonishing is that more than one-half of the people tuning in aren’t even football fans!
So, why tune in? Our money is on the excuse this day offers to eat and drink with wild abandon- making it a celebration we LOVE! The National Retail Federation estimates that Americans will spend more than $15.5 billion on food, drink, game-related merchandise, and electronics — including 8.6 million new televisions — for game day! With estimates of up to 79 million pounds of guacamole and 11.2 million pounds of potato chips to be consumed today you won’t just need a bowl, you’ll need a SUPER bowl! So, our focus is on helping you determine just what makes a super bowl worthy of serving your game day guests?
A super bowl is more than a vessel for your chips and dips- it’s a work of art! Whether imprinted with the exclusive artwork of famed Sunset Strip tattoo artist, Paul Timman (pictured above), or adorned with a whimsical retro mushroom print from Italian fashion house, Fiorucci, a bowl is super if it can dazzle the eye of those who are in it, “just for the commercials,” as well as those hardcore game fans!
A super bowl provides cause to reflect! Cast of shiny, food-safe alloy, some bowls are super for both serving healthy dry-food snack options (like fruit), and for reflecting the ambient glow of those party lights you scattered about to create the perfect ambiance for your game day guests.
A super bowl doesn’t take itself too seriously, no matter how many people are watching! Confident in its appearance, a super bowl embraces uniqueness and doesn’t conform to the boring standard of ordinary bowls. You want to serve boneless ribs on Super Bow Sunday? We say, “Live high on the hog!”
